Fixing Epic Games Launcher Error: The necessary prerequisites have failed to install

To continue enjoying your games or purchase new ones on your computer using the Epic Games Launcher, you need to troubleshoot the failed prerequisites installation error. Try to follow the solutions below and check if it resolves and fixes the problem or not.

Solution #1 – Restart your Computer

  • It helps if you exit your applications and shut down your Windows 10/11 PC or macOS computer.
  • Wait for a few seconds.
  • Turn on your computer and relaunch the Epic Games Launcher.

Solution #2 – Run your Epic Games Launcher as Administrator on PC

  • Go to your Epic Games Launcher icon.
  • Right-click on it.
  • Select Run as administrator.

  • Go to the Shortcut tab.
  • Look for the Target section.
  • Click the parameter entry and go to the end of the line.
  • Add the following after the end of the parameter: -SkipBuildPatchPrereq.
  • Click Apply.
  • Click OK.
