How to Fix PayPal App White Blank Screen Issue After Log in

As one of the biggest payment platforms on the planet, PayPal is known for its convenience and brilliance to users. Many people rely on PayPal around the world, especially thanks to the straightforward way it handles transactions.

Unfortunately, there are moments when using the PayPal app can be very discomforting, resulting in unnatural errors. For example, users have reported that PayPal shows a white or blank screen after logging in. This issue is caused by a bug in PayPal’s login feature. To get rid of it, we’ll explain the right steps in this guide.

It goes without saying, but the first thing you should try is a restart. What you choose to restart depends on whether or not it provides a solution. First, you should attempt to restart the app by closing and reopening it on your device.

If restarting the app doesn’t work, you can try restarting your device instead.

Try to Clear the Cache on your PayPal App

  • Go to your SettingsScroll down to Apps.
  • Find PayPal and tap it.
  • Go to Storage and tap Clear Cache.
  • Open the app again and see if the error persists.

Delete the PayPal App and Reinstall it

You can also try this option, as it will completely wipe PayPal from your device, getting rid of any potentially bugged files that are causing the white screen.

Once deleted, download PayPal from the Play store or Apple App store to get access once again.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication on PayPal

Two Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is one of the most popular ways to sign in to your account for multiple services. PayPal is no different. However, this error has been linked to a bug with 2FA. How it works is as follows. When you have a new device that you’d like to use with PayPal, you’ll probably be prompted to change your Password.

It is usually not an issue, but when 2FA is enabled with your account, the bug is activated, making it impossible to access, and you’re met with a blank or white screen.

Steps to Deactivate PayPal 2FA

  1. Log in to paypal.com on your browser and head to the three horizontal lines.
  2. Select the Gear icon that indicates Settings.
  3. Select Security to access the Security tab.
  4. In this subsequent screen, you’ll see a few options with Two-Factor Authentication among them.
  5. Select Deactivate.
  6. Go to your mobile device and open the PayPal app.
  7. You should be able to change the password now.

Ensure your Internet Connection is Stable

When your connection isn’t strong, the blank screen can be a noticeable issue. Attempt to check your connection quality by going to www.speedtest.net and ensuring that it is decently fast enough to load a webpage on your phone. If the page isn’t loading, you may need to try a different connection to access PayPal or attempt to log in to a different device.

PayPal can occasionally have errors that you may run into. However, it’s still one of the best payment platforms. If you ever encounter this error, our guide should make the solution trivial.
