Finally, Amazon is adding individual user profiles to Amazon Prime Video. This feature has been a cornerstone of streaming service platforms like Netflix, Disney Plus and HBO Max. It gives users personalized recommendations, their very own watchlist, and the ability to track personal viewing progress.

What are the Different User Profiles on Amazon Prime Video

Users can create a maximum of six (6) individual profiles on their accounts. It means that you can add 5 additional profiles for your household members on top of your primary profile which is the default profile associated with your Amazon account.

The additional profiles can either be for an adult or the kids.

Kids Profile

The Kids profile will restrict the content being showed to be appropriate to children 12 years old and below. This will include filters on the search results that will only display age-appropriate content. Having a kids profile also eliminates the ability to make purchases for add-ons and other stuff.

One caveat though, all downloads including those from an adult’s profile, will still be available and can be accessed through the Kids profiles.

Adult Profile

If you have an Adult profile on Amazon Prime Video, you will be able to play just about anything that is already included in the current subscription plan. You can also purchase additional content such as Prime Video Channels and Live content. But the primary user can impose restrictions on an adult profile. You can set parental controls for certain content and enable PIN code to bypass the restrictions.

You can also block purchases to be made on an adult profile. This can be done using the Purchase Restrictions option on the Prime Video Settings.
