Spotify usually comes first to our minds when we are looking for a reliable music streaming platform. Users trust the sleekness and convenience of listening to their favorite songs and organizing them into different albums.
But, some users find it frustrating when Spotify keeps on pausing the music. After two or more songs, the streaming service randomly pauses or skips and users have to manually tap Play for the song to continue. This problem is prominent on mobile users, especially for Android users using the Spotify app. If you experience the same issue, there are several methods you can do to fix this problem.
How to Fix Spotify Randomly Pausing or Skipping Songs
Check out the troubleshooting methods we have listed below.
Solution #1 – Restart your Device

The first thing to do is to try to close the app and turn off your device. Then, after a few seconds, turn your device on and launch Spotify. Now, check if it still randomly pauses playback on songs.
Solution #2 – Restart the Router
The problem may be due to your poor Internet connection. You might want to check your connection. Try to restart the router to refresh your connection.
Solution #3- Signout To All Devices
If you have signed in your Spotify account to more than one device, it may be the reason why you experience the problem. Spotify has a Sign out everywhere feature that allows you to sign out your account to all devices.
- Open Spotify web app and log in to your account.
- Go to the Account Overview page.
- Look for the Sign out everywhere option and click the button.
- Now, try to sign in to only one device and check if the problem still exists.
Solution #4 – Disable Battery Saver Mode
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Battery.
- Click the menu button.
- Now, go to Battery optimization.
- From the menu, select All apps.
- Click the Spotify app.
- Click Don’t optimize.
Solution #5 – Reinstall your Spotify App
If the above solutions do not work, you can reinstall the app.
- Open Settings and click Apps.
- Search for the Spotify app and click to open.
- Click Uninstall.
- Now, go to Google Play Store or the App Store and search for Spotify.
- Install the app.

I have done all of the steps above to no avail — except for un-intalling and reinstalling. If I have to do that and re-acquire hundreds of songs I will be changing music services.
