Changing your mind to a recently sent text message? Now, you can edit or unsend it using the new iOS 16 iMessage app. Apple gives you more leverage over your text messages by allowing you to unsent embarrassing or not-meant-to-send MMS or SMS messages to someone else. You may have sent a text meant to your friend but wrongly sent the message to your boss instead. Now you have the option to recall recently sent texts on your iPhone.
However, the new Edit and Unsend features are available in beta testing for those who have the new iOS 16 beta software update. Apple allows non-developers to use the new software version prior to its full launch in the fall of this year. If you want to try it out, you can sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program for free. If not, you can wait for the release of iOS 16 and enjoy the benefits of unsending text messages on your iPhone.

Aside from the Edit and Unsend feature on texts, iOS 16 is also bringing in SharePlay on Apple Messages and lock screen customization. Users can also collaborate their files, documents, and spreadsheets in the updated Messages messaging app for iOS devices.
How to Unsend or Recall Sent Text Messages using the New iMessage App on iPhone with iOS 16

The Unsend feature on iOS 16 iMessage has a 15-minute window for you to edit or unsent your text messages after first sending them. Beyond the time window, your message will remain as it is. If you realize that you sent the message to the wrong person, you can undo send or unsend it for the text to disappear. But, recipients will still know that a text was there before.
- To unsend a sent message on iOS 16, navigate to the Messages app.
- Tap and hold the text you want to unsent.
- A menu will appear.
- Select Undo Send.
- Your message will automatically disappear.
