Before you rush to the repair shop or scrap your mobile device for a new one, try these fixes to breathe new life back into your stubborn Pixel phone.

Attempt a Force Reboot

An abrupt forced reboot often clears up software glitches causing startup and loading errors. Here’s how to hard reset your Google Pixel:

  • Press and hold the power button nonstop – even if your screen is completely black and unresponsive.
  • Continue holding the button down for roughly 8-10 seconds until you feel a vibration.
  • When your Pixel reboots, release the button. This abruptly cuts power and restarts your device to fix software freezes.

Boot in Safe Mode to Eliminate Other Problems

Safe Mode isolates problems caused by apps recently added to your Pixel. It loads only the original software and apps included with your device.

  • With your Pixel powered on, press and hold the power button.
  • When the power off menu pops up, continue holding the button.
  • You’ll see a “Reboot to safe mode” option – select this to restart your Pixel in safe mode.

If your issues disappear when booted in Safe Mode, a third party app is likely the culprit. Uninstall recently added apps until you identify the problem app.

Reset Mobile Device to Default Factory Settings

If you’ve exhausted other options, erasing your Pixel with a factory reset can fix deep-seated software issues.

  • Backup essential data first – this will wipe your device!
  • Go to Settings -> System -> Reset options
  • Select “Erase all data (factory reset)” to permanently delete ALL data and restore factory settings.

Factory reset is the last resort, but can resolve problems even Safe Mode cannot fix.

Try Charging with Alternate Power Source

Loose charging cables, faulty outlet adapters, and bad USB ports cause more smartphone issues than you may realize.

Before you go to extreme measures, connect your Pixel to another power source.

  • Try a different wall adapter if possible.
  • Use a computer’s USB port and cable to charge your device.
  • If your Pixel begins charging, the issue is with your old power setup.

Don’t overlook these simple solutions in your frustration! Checking cables, chargers, and ports can provide an quick fix.

Though  this covers many DIY fixes for common Pixel problems, some issues require professional repair if these steps don’t work. Extensive troubleshooting and technical expertise is needed for more complex problems.

Don’t lose hope if your Pixel still won’t power on normally after trying these troubleshooting tips. Many problems require combining several techniques to fully diagnose and repair. Persistence and methodically trying different solutions is key to reviving an unresponsive device.

But if you’ve exhausted all options to no avail, escalating to a certified repair technician may be your best option to get your beloved Pixel up and running again.
