Watching a movie or TV show on Paramount Plus can be more enjoyable if you understand what the characters are saying. This is most especially true if the language on the film or show is not the primary one you are speaking. Good thing Paramount Plus allows you to enable or disable subtitles and closed captions, so you have the option if you want to have the added text on your screen or not.

  1. I cannot turn on closed captions for Paramount +
Everything else I watch shows closed captions so I believe my Smart TV is set correctly.

  2. I am having tge same problem I keep going into paramount plus and the settings I selected are showing but not transferring over when I watch my shows

  3. I COULD NOT TURN ON THE CLOSED CAPTIONS EITHER UNTIL I FOUND THE ICON AT THE TOP RIGHT OF THE PICTURE AND CLICKED ON IT. THE CAPTIONS SHOWED “OFF” WITH A BLUE CHECK MARK NEXT TO IT. WHEN I CLICKED ON THE “OFF” NOTHING HAPPENED TO CHANGE IT TO ON. WHEN I CLICKED ON THE WORD “ENGLISH UNDERNEATH THE CAPTION ‘OFF” AND DID NOTHING ELSE, THE CLOSED CAPTIONS FINALLY APPEARED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PICTURE. HOPE THIS HELPS.

  4. When on Paramount + and I go to the top right to set closed caption I only have an audio selection we need the words badly my husband is hearing impaired

  5. June 22 opening

    • Thank you! After struggling numerous times to get the Closed Caption feature to display, and using Google for help, it wasn’t until I read your comment that I was successful. You made it sooooo easy. Too bad I didn’t read it before I binge watched the first season of 1883. I missed so much dialog. Thanks again 😊

  6. I’d like to turn them off permanently on the mobile app instead of having to turn them off on ECERY SHOW I WATCH! It is beyond irritating. There is no spot on the apple device in the setting to turn them off or on. It’s on every show you attempt to watch. I understand the need for them but not everyone needs them. I can turn it off on my TV’s but I cannot turn it off on my mobile device. Paramount Plus is the only app I watch that is doing that.
