Users under this subscription plan will get the same access to Microsoft Office desktop and mobile apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more. Family members will also have an Outlook account with advanced email security and technical support as well as Skype messenger and OneDrive cloud storage service. The only difference between Microsoft 365 Personal and Microsoft 365 Family is the number of users per account and the amount of cloud storage space allocated.

Microsoft 365 Family allows 2 to 6 users under one account. You also get 6 TB of OneDrive storage space, which is 1 TB per person. The main highlight is the price you need to pay per month or year. Microsoft 365 Personal cost $6.99 per month or 69.99 per year, while Microsoft 365 Family is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.

Now that you have signed up for the Microsoft 365 Family plan, it is time to share it and add multiple users including your friends and members of your household to the account. Follow the steps below to know how to manage and share Office apps and storage space with your Microsoft 365 Family subscription plan.

  • Launch any browser.
  • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/sharing.
  • Login to your account.
  • On the top, select the Sharing tab.
  • Click the Start sharing button.
  • You have two options to invite your family members. You can send an email invitation or send them through a link.
  • If you want to send an email invitation, click Invite via email.
  • Enter the email address of your family members.
  • Click the Invite button.
  • If you want to send an invite through a link, click Invite via link.
  • A Sharing link will appear. Click the copy link button beside it.
  • Send it to them via messenger or other message platforms.
