Purchasing an app or subscribing to an in-app service on Google Play Store is just a few clicks away. You can install and enjoy using a new app as it comes out or buys an app you always want to download. But what if you accidentally made an app purchase on Google Play Store? Can you get a refund for it?
Fortunately, Google gives a refund for certain accidental purchases. As long as your request is verifiable and reasonable, many users get a full refund on their app purchases. However, some users say their Google Play Store refund request got denied or rejected.
Why Can’t I Get a Refund on Google Play Store?
There are different reasons for Google Play not to refund your purchase. You may have problems with your payment information or did not verify it. In some instances, purchases are non-refundable. If you want to get a refund from Google Play, you also need to act on the request soon otherwise, there is a greater chance of hassle and complications.
Google also offers authentication on Google Play Store to prevent accidental purchases. But, if you turned off the authentication, it is likely that Google will deny or reject your refund request. According to Google, they cannot issue a refund to users if they gave their account or payment details to someone else, abuse their policies, or do not use authentication to protect their account.
