  • Check back periodically to see if the servers are back up.

  • Go to the Settings on your phone.
  • Navigate to the Apps section.
  • In the list of installed apps, search for Facebook Messenger.
  • Select Facebook Messenger.
  • Click on Storage.
  • Select Clear Cache.
  • Relaunch Facebook Messenger.
  • Sign in to Facebook Messenger.
  • Try to use the app.

Update the Facebook Messenger App Version

  • Go to your smartphone’s app store.
  • Search for Facebook Messenger.
  • Check to see if there are any updates available. 
  • If there’s an update available, install it.
  • Wait for the update to finish installing
  • Launch Facebook Messenger and test it to see if it works.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Facebook Messenger App

  • Go to your smartphone’s app store.
  • Search for Facebook Messenger.
  • Uninstall the application.
  • Once it’s done, reinstall Facebook Messenger.
  • Wait for the app to finish installing.
  • Launch Facebook Messenger and sign in.
  • Test to see if everything works as usual.
