They say that change is good, but sometimes, it doesn’t always work that way. When Reddit launched the new design of its website and mobile app, it received a lot of criticism, which is almost quite common among big online platforms.

As a result, many Reddit users don’t seem to like the new social media platform layout. If you’re one of those who don’t appreciate the latest design, there are a few tips on how to access and get Reddit’s old layout back on your mobile device or desktop computer.

  2. Go to Reddit.com.
  3. Log in to your Reddit account.

Unfortunately, you can’t get the old layout back if you’re using Reddit mobile app. The good news is that you can still use the old layout of Reddit via a web browser on your device. Here are the steps to follow to restore Reddit’s old layout:

  1. Launch the web browser on your device.
  2. Go to the official Reddit website.
  3. Log in to your Reddit account.
  4. After logging in, go to the address bar, type old.reddit.com, and then press Enter.
  5. Once the web address redirects you to the Reddit mobile app, just force-stop it.
  6. Go back to the old.reddit.com website address once again to load the old Reddit layout.

If you don’t like to manually type the website address to access the old layout of Reddit on your mobile device, you can also create a shortcut on the home screen on your Android device. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open old.reddit.com on the web browser of your phone.
  2. Click the three dots located in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Choose Add to Homescreen from the list that shows up.
  4. On the prompt for Add to Home Screen, enter the name and then click Add button.
  5. A new prompt will appear and will ask you to create a widget.
  6. Click the Add button.

Once you check the home screen of your phone, you will find the new widget where you can access the old Reddit layout.

The Bottom Line

Despite being minimalist and clean, it’s ironic that many users find the new layout of Reddit somewhat complicated. This is probably because Reddit users come from different age groups, and not everyone finds the new sleek look comfortable.

Thankfully, the above steps can help you get back the old layout so you can continue with a seamless Reddit experience.
