High-quality videos can give you a better streaming experience. On Netflix, you have an option to set the video quality of downloaded shows to high. Netflix offers both Standard and High Quality for videos.

Standard Video Quality on Netflix will give you a good video resolution. But, don’t expect a full FD experience. You can get a fair quality, usually at 360p or 480p, which is already good if you are using a mobile device. The main advantage of the Standard setting is the less storage space it requires when loading the video. You also need less download time.

The High Quality setting on Netflix offers a full HD streaming experience when watching on your devices. You get up to 1080p resolution, which is ideal for movies with more animation or graphics. Still, High Quality entails more storage space and download time when you watch your content offline.

It is easy to change the download quality when you stream on Netflix. But, the process differs on the device you are using. Follow each step below, so you have the option of how you want to watch your favorite videos on Netflix.

Via Amazon Fire TV and Stick

  • On your Amazon Fire TV or Fire Stick device, open the Netflix app.
  • Look for the More button and tap to open.
  • Navigate to the App Settings.
  • Go to the Downloads section.
  • Tap Download Video Quality.
  • Now, you can choose to set the quality to Standard or High Quality.

Via Android Device

  • Look for the Netflix app on your Android phone and tap to open.
  • At the bottom of the screen, tap the More button.
  • Go to the App Settings.
  • Navigate to the Downloads section.
  • Select Download Video Quality.
  • Choose between the Standard or High Quality.

Via iPhone or iPad

  • Launch the Netflix app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
  • Look for the More button or the Profile icon. Tap to open.
  • Go to the App Settings.
  • Look for Downloads.
  • Tap Video Quality.
  • From there, select either Standard or High Quality.

On Windows 10

  • Launch the Netflix desktop app for Windows 10.
  • Login to your account if you have not yet done so.
  • Click the Menu button or the three-dotted icon.
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Go to the Downloads section.
  • Select Video Quality.
  • You can then choose between Standard or High Quality.
