How to Stop Being Logged Out of Everything Automatically when You Turn Off your Laptop

As stated above, there may not be an exact reason or cause as to why you are experiencing this error on Windows 10. It can be an issue with your computer browser, antivirus, or other conflicting apps. To help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem, follow each solution one at a time and check if it works for you or not.

Solution #1 – Uninstall or Remove Windows 10 App

Some applications installed on your computer may be causing the error. One of the common app that users report to cause this issue is the MSI Dragon Center.

  • Navigate to the Settings menu.
  • Go to Apps.
  • Look for MSI Dragon Center and click to open.
  • Click the Uninstall button of the MSI Dragon Center.
  • Select Confirm.
  • Restart your computer and check if the error is still there.

Solution #2 – Modify the Task Scheduler

  • First, find out the task that may be causing the problem.
  • Launch the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
  • Type Get-ScheduledTask | foreach { If (([xml](Export-ScheduledTask -TaskName $_.TaskName -TaskPath $_.TaskPath)).GetElementsByTagName(“LogonType”).’#text’ -eq “S4U”) { $_.TaskName } }
  • Write down the problematic task.
  • On the Search box, type Task Scheduler.
  • Click Task Scheduler.
  • Go to the left part of the screen. Select the Task Scheduler Library.
  • Look for the problematic task.
  • Double click on the task.
  • Go to the General tab.
  • Select the Run Whether User is Logged on or Not.
  • Under it, check the Do Not Store Password. The task will only have access to local computer resources.
  • Restart your PC.
  • If the problem still exists, go back to the General tab of your Task Scheduler.
  • Select Run Only When User is Logged On.
  • Restart your PC.
  • If the error is still there, go back to the problematic task.
  • Right-click on it and select Disable.
  • Restart your PC.

Solution #3 – Allow Cookies on Your Browser

  • Launch Google Chrome.
  • Click the three-dotted icon.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Privacy and Security.
  • Click the Cookies and other site data.
  • Make sure you have Allowed All Cookies on the browser.
  • Restart your browser.

Solution #4 – Remove the Protect Folder on Windows 10

  • On the Search box, type Services.
  • Right-click on Services and select Run as Administrator.
  • Right-click on Credential Manager.
  • Click Properties.
  • Under the General tab, look for Startup type.
  • Click the drop-down menu.
  • Select Automatic.
  • Click Apply.
  • Reboot your computer.
  • If the problem still exists, launch the Run Dialog box and type %appdata%.
  • Click the Microsoft folder.
  • Go to Protect.
  • Delete all the folders inside.
  • Restart your computer.

Solution #5 – Reset your Browser Settings

  • Click Advanced.
  • Go to Reset and Clean up.
  • Select Restore settings to their original defaults.
  • Click Reset Settings.
