Downloading apps to your Windows computer is easy thanks to Microsoft Store. You can find useful apps that you can easily install and use with your Windows 10 operating system. However, some users have reported an error when they try to download an app. Others indicate the same error when they are installing Instagram.

The error message “This app has been blocked due to company policy” usually appears if there is a corruption in the process when you download an app from the Microsoft Store. In some cases, the Get buttons are grayed out so users cannot download the app.

Method #1 – Set the Right Region and Language in the Settings

  • Go to the Windows Settings. You can also press the Windows key + I.
  • Next, select Time & language.
  • Choose Region.
  • Now, set the right region and regional format.
  • Next, click Language.
  • Set the right language for your computer.

Method #2 – Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

  • Go to Windows Settings.
  • Click Update & Security.
  • Select Troubleshoot.
  • On the right side of the screen, look for Windows Store Apps.
  • Click the Run the troubleshooter button.
  • Wait for the process to finish.
  • If there are fixes indicated, follow the instructions to repair the error.

Method #3 – Check for Windows Updates

You may have pending updates that will help you fix the error.

  • Go to the Windows Settings.
  • Click Update & Security.
  • Select Windows Update.
  • On the right side, click the Check for updates button.
  • Wait for the scan to finish.
  • Available updates will appear. Click Install Now to download these updates.
  • Go back to Microsoft Store and check if the error still exists.

Method #4 – Use a Different User Account

Trying a different user account can also help in downloading the app especially if you have access to other accounts. However, if you are using a corporate email, it can trigger the error. You can try to remove corporate email accounts from your Windows Mail.

Method #5 – Reset Your Microsoft Store

  • Go to the Windows Settings.
  • Select Apps and look for Microsoft Store.
  • Click Advanced options.
  • Click the Reset button.
  • Another way is to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type wsreset.exe and click OK.
  • This will reset your Microsoft Store app.
