  1. I have a Vizio 55 in and was having a problem looping through the setup and having to put in my wifi password and downloading updates. It just kept looping through this process and I couldn’t get to where the smartcast would show up so I could watch TV. What I realized is that I had bought my TV a long time before I hooked it up. I had moved and that was a long process for me and then I didn’t watch TV all summer, so I realized that my TV was probably several updates behind and that’s why it was looping through the setup over and over to download an update. So I excited the setup process and then clicked on the menu button instead, clicked on system, and clicked on check for updates. This put me directly into the update area instead of going through setup and putting in my wifi password over and over to get to the updates. Anyway, in the manual update area it will tell you what update your TV is on and the update that you need to get to. So, run through the update process in that section until your TV gets to the goal update. If it was a human brain, it would update everything all in one shot, but it’s not so you have to go through each update one at a time. So just go through the process over and over until the updates get up to speed.

  2. None of these worked for me.
I just purchased a new Vizio TV and it doesn’t recognize my 5G Network. Though it will recognize the regular network. It’s not a network problem because all other devices in the house can connect to the 5G. When scanning for different networks it will bring up at least 20 different networks but not my 5G Network.

  3. Tried everything several times tv was fine and out of the blue it disconnected from wifi and will not reconnect no matter what I do!

  4. I had to manually insert the network and I tested it with positive results. It established DNS and NTP Servers
    Connection Method: Wireless
    Connected to: (my network)
    Signal Strength: Full Bars
    Download: 10880kb/s
    SError Code: Success

  5. I’ve noticed that my Vizio OLED periodically just gets confused – not just with the WiFi connection. Power cycling the TV consistently brings it back in line.
