There are times when you have to be on the road, even during working hours. To maintain communication even when driving, Apple CarPlay lets you use the Microsoft Teams app through your iPhone. However, with the new Teams app integration to CarPlay, many iPhone users complain that their Teams app crashes when using it on their car. When accessing the app, Teams simply freezes.

How to Fix Microsoft Teams for iPhone from Crashing on Apple CarPlay?

If you experience the same situation when using the Microsoft Teams app for iOS on your car, it may be due to different reasons. Still, there are ways on how you can fix the videoconferencing app problem. Follow each solution below and check if it helps in solving the issue.

Solution #1 – Connect Wirelessly

If you are using a USB cable to connect your phone to your Apple CarPlay, you may want to try connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth. Now, try to open the Teams app and check if it still crashes.

It can be an issue with Microsoft Teams, so you cannot do anything about it except wait for them to resolve the issue. Go to the Office 365 admin center and check the Service Health. You may also check their status on their social media.

Solution #3 – Reinstall Microsoft Teams App on iPhone

To reinstall the Microsoft Teams app on your iOS device, you need to delete it first to completely uninstall. Deleting the app also means clearing the app data so you can start anew when reinstalling the app on your iPhone.

  1. On your iPhone, launch the Settings menu.
  2. Select General.
  3. Go to iPhone Storage.
  4. Look for the Microsoft Teams app and tap to open.
  5. Select Delete App.
  6. Tap Delete App again.
  7. Now, go to the App Store.
  8. Search for Microsoft Teams.
  9. Reinstall the app.
  10. Try checking again if the error still exists.
