According to the social media giant, the new Watch Together feature will help increase video-viewing time and use in the app. Users can experience everything inside the chat app. As of now, there are 150 million video calls and more than 200 videos sent by users through the messaging app.
With many streaming services also launching their watch party features, the recent ones being Twitch and Disney Plus, Facebook Messenger may be up for a challenge. The Watch Together feature is mostly used on the mobile phone screen, so it targets people who may not have access to laptops but use their phones instead.
How to Use Facebook Messenger’s “Watch Together” Group Watch Party Feature
Facebook Messenger’s Watch Together co-viewing feature is available both in iOS and Android devices. You can also use it on Messenger Rooms. Users can invite up to 8 people on their Messenger video call for the watch party. If you are using Messenger Rooms, you can host up to 50 people.

- To create a session, first, open your Messenger app.
- Start a video call or create a Messenger Room.
- On the screen, swipe up to open the menu.
- Tap Watch Together.
- Facebook will show different videos you can watch.
- Tap on the video and start watching.
