Fix: This Account is Not Yet Eligible to Use YouTube Error Message

Creating a YouTube channel can help in promoting your business. You can upload the video related to your products, connect to your market through comments, and many more.

However, Google Workspace users complained that they see an error when they try to create a YouTube channel. The error message says, “This account is not yet eligible to use YouTube.”

Google Workspace is the new name for G Suite, a collection of tools and apps for business collaboration. Users enable YouTube on their Google Admin console but still see the issue.

Google is careful when it comes to preventing spam accounts. Not allowing new Google Workspace accounts to access features on YouTube from day one will help maintain their clean system. It will avoid possible spamming on comments and content.

However, G Suite for Education and G Suite for Nonprofits editions users will not encounter the error.

Minimum Requirements for Google Workspace Accounts to Access YouTube

Before you can access features on YouTube, you will need to be eligible first. YouTube has criteria that will determine if your account is eligible or not.

  • Your Google Workspace account must have been billed for at least $30.
  • Your Google Workspace account must remain open for at least 30 days.

Once your account is eligible, you can use YouTube features like adding comments and creating and uploading video content.

Fixing “This account is not yet eligible to use YouTube” Error

One way to help you troubleshoot and finally fix this YouTube error is to speed up the payment. Since one of the requirements is to have at least $30 on your bill, you can pay your subscription plan in advance. Otherwise, you will need to wait a few months before you can accumulate the $30 payment on your account.
