How to Fix OneNote App Content Not yet Available Syncing Error Online

It is easy to create and organize notes on Windows 10, Mac computer, Android or iOS mobile device, thanks to Microsoft OneNote. The simple yet effective interface of this popular note-taking tool allows you to organize your notes in different notebooks. You can also subdivide them into sections which is a great feature for a lot of users.

But, according to some users, they encounter a problem when they try to launch their OneNote app on their devices after resetting it. The error message appears, “Content Not Yet Available. Sorry, it looks like this page was added from another computer and hasn’t synced yet. Click here or press ENTER to reload this page.”

Some users of OneNote Online web application also experience the same issue when opening OneNote on their browsers on an Android phone, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and PC computer.

If you experience the same error on your OneNote desktop client or mobile app, there are different reasons why it happens. First, your OneNote is offline, and the contents are not syncing properly with the Microsoft SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business server. You may have logged out of your Microsoft OneNote account. In most cases, you have disconnected from the Internet.

Fortunately, several solutions will help you troubleshoot and solve the OneNote problem regardless of which device you are using to access the app or website. Check out the methods below one at a time. Please note that some solutions are specific to Windows 10 desktop or laptop PC.

Method #1 – Check your Internet Connection

As indicated above, one of the reasons for the OneNote error is your Internet network connection. To fix the problem, make sure you connect your device to a reliable WiFi Internet network. You can also check your home or office network connection signal by doing a speed test. A good way to refresh your Internet connection is to power cycle your device.

  • Turn off your device and unplug your router and modem.
  • Wait for at least 1 minute before plugging them back in.
  • Turn on your device and relaunch the Microsoft OneNote client.

Method #2 – Log Back In to your Microsoft OneNote Account

  • You will need to log out of your account first.
  • Go to the Settings menu.
  • Look for Account.
  • Select your profile name.
  • Click Sign Out.
  • Confirm Sign out.
  • Next, click the Sign In button and enter your Microsoft Account.
  • Click the Sign In button.

Method #3 – Try Opening OneNote from Another Device

You may have trouble accessing the content from your device, but it may work through another device. Open your OneNote app on a different computer, phone or tablet. If you can see the content, try to edit it from there and sync both of your devices. If you shared your Microsoft OneNote notes with other users, you could ask them to move the content and sync your devices. See if this solution fixes the issue.

Method #4 – Empty your Recycle Bin Folder

For Windows PC and Mac computer users, you can try to empty your Recycle Bin to eliminate deleted file or data related issues.

  • Open your Recycle Bin. If you cannot locate it, use the Search option.
  • Go to the Recycle Bin Tools.
  • Click Empty Recycle Bin.

Method #5 – Perform Restore your OneDrive

  • On any browser, go to onedrive.live.com.
  • Sign in to your account.
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Select Options.
  • On the left side, click Restore your OneDrive.
  • Verify your account if needed.
  • Set the date.
  • Click the Restore button.
