Method #1 – Fix your Recycle Bin

Since you cannot remove the deleted files, your Recycle Bin may be corrupted.

  • First, launch the Command Prompt. You can Run Dialog Windows and type cmd or use the Search tool.
  • Select Run as administrator.
  • Enter the following command:rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin
  • Take note of the space between the characters.
  • Once done, close the Command Prompt window.
  • Restart your computer.

Method #2 – Run an SFC Scan

sfc scannow
  • Launch the Command Prompt.
  • Select Run as administrator.
  • Enter the command:sfc /scannow
  • After finishing the scan, close the Command Prompt window.
  • Restart your computer.

Method #3 – Check System Permissions

  • Go over to the deleted files that keep on coming back.
  • Right-click on the filename.
  • Select Properties.
  • Navigate to the Security tab.
  • Click Advanced.
  • Go to the Owner section.
  • Click Change.
  • Enter everyone.
  • Click OK.
  • Go back to the Security tab.
  • Click Edit.
  • Click Allow for all permissions.

Method #4 – Turn Off or Uninstall Cloud Storage Syncing

Your files may keep on coming back on your PC because it might be syncing from your cloud storage. You need to uninstall it or turn off the cloud storage syncing to see if you can get rid of the issue.

  • Open the Control Panel.

  • Click Uninstall.
  • Restart your computer.
