A new streaming service is launching in the US this coming January 4. Discovery Cable Programming will feature its very own streaming service called Discovery Plus and join the bandwagon of streaming giants in the industry such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max. The Cable entertainment company is behind well-loved TV channels like Discovery Channel, HGTV, and Food Network.
With its streaming service on board, Discovery Plus will showcase exclusive shows and movies. Last month, it started its launch in the UK and Ireland. Now, it is expanding to the US starting next year and reach 25 more countries all over the world, including Spain, Latin America, Italy, Netherlands, and parts of Europe and Asia.
What is Discovery Plus (+)?
The streaming service will include shows from its cable channels. You will have access to the Food Network, Animal Planet, Lifetime, and History Channel. Check out documentaries from BBC and the 90 Day Journey series. It will feature more than 55,000 episodes from its channels.
The Discovery+ is available on major platforms. To get started, you will need to subscribe to the service at $5 a month. However, the basic plan will still include ads which work just like Peacock. If you want to go ad-free, you will have to pay $7 per month.
How to Get Discovery+ Streaming Service Subscription for Free with Verizon?
Before its launch, users can get the Discovery Plus service for free. Verizon is offering a promo for a one-year free subscription to the streaming service. All you have to do is sign-up for any of Verizon’s subscription plans, and you will have free one-year access to Discovery Plus.
To avail of the promo, you can subscribe to their Play More or Get More Unlimited Plan. Users who are currently under Verizon’s Unlimited Plan can also avail themselves of the free service. New users of the 5G Home Internet and the Fios gigabit plan are also qualified.
